Get your passports ready. In 2011, the premier tournament in the Rugby calendar, Rugby World Cup 2011, will be taking place in New Zealand between September- October 2011.

The Six Nations has come and gone, but next year it’s the big one. Rugby World Cup 2011 will be held in New Zealand. Rugby World Cup 2011 event is scheduled to be played over seven weekends from the weekend starting 10 September and culminating the weekend starting 22 October 2011. The weekend of the final was chosen so it falls on a long weekend caused by the New Zealand public holiday of Labour Day (Monday, 24 October 2011). The final is scheduled to be played in Auckland at Eden Park.

Overseas demand has been strong with the most popular team pool packs (aside from New Zealand), being England, Ireland, France, South Africa and Australia.

Organizers offered as many as 750,000 tickets in the first phase. Individual tickets will go on sale in September. Ballots for tickets to the semi-finals and final will be run in early 2011 rather than in November as previously announced.

Tickets for the semi finals and the final are likely to go on sale in August or September 2010. Individual match tickets will go on sale in August or September and ballots for tickets to the semi-finals and final will be held near the end of the year.

ERC, the Heineken Cup organisers, are delighted to announce that the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, will host the 16th Heineken Cup final on the weekend of 21/22 May, 2011.  The 2011 Heineken Cup Final will be played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. It will be the sixth time that Cardiff has played host to the showpiece of the European club rugby calendar.The Heineken Cup is Europe’s premier rugby union club competition, and is analogous to the UEFA Champions League in football (soccer). Professional teams from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales compete with each country having their own qualification criteria. The cup is contested annually, with 24 teams split into six pools. The top eight teams from the pool stages qualify for the quarter finals; the four winners then contest the semi-finals; the two winners then play one another in the Heineken Cup final.

The WRU won the bid to host the world’s biggest club rugby final, which will return to the Welsh capital for the sixth time in 16 seasons.

The first two Heineken Cup finals were played at the old Cardiff Arms Park with the Millennium Stadium hosting three of the last eight finals.

The 2010 Six Nations Championship, known as the 2010 RBS 6 Nations due to the tournament’s sponsorship by the Royal Bank of Scotland, will be the 11th series of the Six Nations Championship. The annual northern hemisphere rugby union championship is contested by England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The tournament will begin on the weekend of 6 February 2010, with the final games scheduled for 20 March 2010.Following is the schedule of 2010 RBS.

As the Six Nations tournament enters its later stages, predicting the results should be getting slightly easier. So, here goes; this weekend I see France absolutely dominating Italy, England winning against Scotland and Ireland coming up top in their match against Wales.
