Glasgow indie troupe Belle And Sebastian are to make their British live return at Latitude this summer.
The initial batch of headliners for this year’s 2010 Latitude Festival has been announced and…it’s pretty good all in all. Headlining the Obelisk Arena, which is the main stage, over the course of three days will be Florence + The Machine, Belle & Sebastian and Vampire Weekend. Just marginally underneath those three on the bill for that area are Empire Of The Sun, The Maccabees and fast-fingered duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela.
Held on the South Coast, Latitude has evolved into a hugely respected festival. Last year’s line up saw Thom Yorke added at the last minute, resulting in one of the summer’s most memorable performances.
This year the second stage will be The Word Arena, named after the magazine, obviously. Their headliners will be The National, The xx and Grizzly Bear, with The Horrors and Charlotte Gainsbourg fractionally below.
Emo Philips, Ardal O’Hanlon, Rich Hall and Tommy Tiernan have been announced as the Comedy Arena’s main acts. The Royal Opera House and Hair: The Musical also command a stage each.
The music/theatre/comedy festival takes place once more at Henham Park in Southwold between Thursday, July 15 and Sunday July 18. Tickets are on sale now and priced at £155 for the whole event.
