NBA heavyweights the LA Lakers, the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves will play a series of pre-season exhibition matches in Europe in October, organisers announced on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in a pre-season game at London’s O2 Arena on October 4th. The La Lakers are the current NBA Champions and last played outside of the US way back in 1991 in Paris. The NBA Europe Live tour will also see LA LAkers take on FC Barcelona, three days later, in a game that will see Pau Gasol meet his former club.

London will be hosting an NBA game for the fourth consecutive year, with the Timberwolves set to return to the O2 Arena after previously playing there in 2007.
The Knicks kick off the tour with a match against AJ Milano in Milan on October 3, with the Lakers meeting the Timberwolves in an all-NBA affair at London’s 02 Arena the day after.
