Despite the frankly dreadful weather, the summer isn’t over just yet, not until the final beats have been played at Reading and Leeds this weekend. Guns N’ Roses, Blink-182 and Arcade Fire will be headlining Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend. The Libertines have also reformed for the event. With two days to go until Reading And Leeds Festivals kick off (August 27-29), we have the latest weather updates.

Weather Update for LEEDS and READING

At present, rain is to be expected at Reading on both the Friday and Sunday of the festival, although it is not expected to be heavy.  Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 19 degrees Celsius on the Saturday.

Over at the Leeds site, there will be sunny intervals throughout the weekend with rain expected on Sunday, according to the BBC. Revellers there will enjoy temperatures of around 19 degrees.

Welsh stars Stereophonics have released further details of their two scheduled  gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

The group are set to l play their first two albums, 1997’s ‘Word Gets Around’ and 1999’s ‘Performance and Cocktails’, in full at the two special shows on October 17 and 18. Both albums will be re-released on October 18.

Following the tragic news that ex-bandmate Stuart Cable was found dead in his Aberdare home in June, it has been a difficult summer for Stereophonics. Having to come to terms with the loss of their friend and former drummer, Kelly Jones, speaking before the Stereophonics’ hit-laden support slot at V Festival last weekend, spoke about Cable saying that “Stuart’s always with us on stage and he’s in the songs. He never goes away.

The gigs will coincide with the re-release of both albums on October 18. The reissues will feature the original album, plus a disc of the band’s favourite b-sides, rarities and early demos.

Both the Chelmsford and Staffordshire sites play host to V Festival on the 21st and 22nd August, which attracts more than 150,000 revellers. The goings on at V Festival can change more times than Lady Gaga would at a clothes swap-a-rama and it’s hard to keep up.

The Saturdays will also be getting their claws out. Organisers have set up a Minx nail bar and Mac make-up station in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge.

V Festival, sponsored by Virgin Media, kicks off its 15th anniversary celebrations by announcing a world class line up for this year’s festival on the 21st and 22nd August 2010 just 4 days away, being headlined by Kings of Leon and Kasabian. Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire – V Festival 2010 will give some 170,000 revellers a glance of that rare festival treat: pop stars. Expect the good and great from the charts swapping venues from 21-22 August with a spattering of inoffensive and uncontroversial rockers to seal the deal.Despite some reports, Peter is NOT replacing Cheryl Cole, who was forced to pull out of the event after contracting malaria earlier this summer. Organisers will be announcing a replacement for the X Factor starlet later this week. The singer and former husband of glamour model Katie Price will play the Arena stage, which also boasts Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah.

There will be four main arenas to choose from and a few branded bars to spice things up. It will all be wrapped up by 11pm as well. Tickets sold out for V Festival within hours of going on sale and up to 90,000 people are expected to attend Weston Park over the two days.

The festival takes place in Chelmsford and Staffordshire on August 21-22, and will be headlined by Kasabian and Kings Of Leon.

X Factot 2011 tour is going to be sale on 28th August 2010 for wembley arena, london.  At the weekend The Daily Star claimed that this series of The X Factor will be the last in the UK as Simon Cowell focuses his attentions on the US. The show will be launched Stateside in 2011 with Simon in charge and on the panel.

Scherzinger impressed Cowell when she stood in for Cheryl during the UK X Factor auditions recently (while she was hospitalised with malaria).

An insider told the paper that Nicole is now favourite to become a judge when the show launches in 2011. “Nicole blew Simon away,” they said.

“Her appearance was always being viewed as an ‘audition’ for X Factor US, but no one expected her to be quite as good as she was.”

However a spokesman for the show told the BBC: “The X Factor is back on ITV1 this autumn, and we’re looking forward to it returning in 2011.”

Arcade Fire have announced details of 2010 UK arena tour for December.  Indie band Arcade Fire have announced they will play a series of large arena shows around the UK later this year.

The Montreal-based outfit, who will headline the Reading and Leeds Festival at the end of this month, are set to end the year in the UK with a December arena tour, calling at London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester and Glasgow. Last week they played two gigs at Madison Square Garden, which were filmed by former Monty Python star Terry Gilliam and broadcast live on YouTube.

Arcade Fire will be expected to play all their best-loved songs from albumsFuneral, Neon Bible and The Suburbs: Wake Up, Rebellion (Lies), Black Mirror, No Cars Go and We Used To Wait.
